Photo Exhibition
In Stockholm:
In early 2008, Mai Raud-Pähn, Peeter Grünberg and Ivo Penno, members of the Estonians Archives in Sweden working group, compiled a photo exhibition for the 90th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia. Photos showed Estonian life in Sweden on the jubilee years of the Republic of Estonia. The exhibition, called “Glimpses of Estonian Life in Sweden 1918-2008”, was financially supported by the Estonian Ministry of Education and Research, and was on display in the Estonian House in Stockholm between the 22nd of February and 13th of March 2008.
After the opening of the photo exhibition, unique films by filmmaker and photographer Harald Perten were shown. These unique films had been converted to DVD-format prior to the opening of the exhibition.
...Tallinn and Jõhvi:
The exhibition was on display in Jõhvi, Estonia, during the conference “Diasporaa roll Eesti iseseisvuse taastamisel” (“The Role of the Diaspora in the Restoration of Estonian Independence”) on the 6th - 7th of August 2008. It is on display in the Museum of Occupations in Tallinn between the 12th of August and 14th of September.
...and Tartu:
The exhibition is on display in the Estonian National Museum between the 6th of November and the 6th of December.
Harald Perten Films Shown in Uppsala
The Uppsala Estonian Society was visited by Peeter Grünberg and Ivo Penno one November evening. Five of Harald Perten’s films were shown.
